Ranfors 63 is a mid-to-upper tier 100% cotton sheeting with a thread density of 63 threads per square centimetre — 160 TC (thread count) in the international standard. Weight is 125 g/m². The cloth is woven in a 1/1 plain (linen) weave with 30/1 yarns in both warp and weft, which delivers an even, balanced surface free of loose patches and free of the stiffness that often accompanies higher densities.
This is the sheet most mid-segment Bulgarian and European hotels choose for their primary bed linen. The reason is simple — it gives a visibly fuller, more substantial feel than entry-level Ranfors 57 (140 TC), without crossing into the price range of sateen or percale.
Why Ranfors and why density 63 specifically
Ranfors is a plain-woven cotton — the simplest and at the same time the most durable construction in fabric. Each warp yarn passes over and under one weft yarn at a 1/1 ratio. That very simplicity is what makes Ranfors so well-suited to hospitality: the fabric tolerates hundreds of industrial wash cycles without visible fatigue, does not stretch on the bias, and holds its shape through repeated calendering.
Density 63 threads/cm² is the sensible compromise. Below it, the fabric starts to look thin under direct light — particularly in white — and the guest notices. Above it, Ranfors becomes expensive without a meaningful jump in feel, because a truly perceptible upgrade requires moving to a sateen or mercerised construction.
Which properties it suits
We recommend Ranfors 63 for three customer types:
- •3- and 4-star hotels — as the primary sheet for standard rooms, where the guest expects quality but is not willing to pay 5-star segment prices.
- •Aparthotels and holiday complexes — where the wash cycle is frequent and intensive and housekeeping has no time for delicate fabrics.
- •Corporate and institutional facilities — student dormitories, corporate housing or workforce accommodation looking for a long-life solution with predictable replacement costs.
For 5-star hotels, boutique properties or wellness residences we typically recommend sateen or percale at 200+ TC — we carry those in a separate product line.
Durability and care
Ranfors 63 sheets are tested for industrial laundering at 60°C, covering all sanitary requirements for EU hospitality. Drying also up to 60°C. At this temperature the cotton is freed of residual bacteria without compromising fibre structure. We recommend avoiding chlorine bleach — not for wash efficacy, but because over time it weakens the cellulose bonds in cotton and shortens sheet life by tens of cycles.
Calender ironing at 180–200°C produces that crisp, pressed look guests associate with a professionally made bed. Ranfors handles this excellently, unlike some synthetic blends.
Colour and finish
The standard execution is Optical white with a clean, plain weave — the classic for hospitality. White remains the most practical hotel choice: stains are easy to track, all rooms have a unified appearance, and it matches the welcoming aesthetic guests expect.

Frequently asked questions
How many industrial wash cycles does Ranfors 63 withstand?
With the recommended temperature (60°C) and no aggressive bleach, the sheet keeps a commercial appearance for 180 to 220 cycles. The exact figure depends on water (hardness, pH) and the detergents used.
What is the difference between TC and threads/cm²?
TC (thread count) is the sum of threads in one square inch, warp plus weft. 63 threads/cm² corresponds to approximately 160 TC. Both metrics describe the same thing, just in different units.
Can it be ordered with a logo or coloured trim?
Yes — for orders above a minimum quantity we offer custom branding: a woven label with the hotel logo, or a coloured trim in your corporate colour. Contact us for an individual quote.
